Finally, the case that I have been waiting for has finally arrived to my apartment: the FormD T1.1 mini ITX case. AKA; the tiny but capable enthusiast case. This case was not only one of the smallest form factor cases currently on the market for any computer builder junkie right now, but also featured a unique sandwich-design to incorporate the motherboard, power supply, and graphics card in a very unique and space-saving way. I ordered the case back in August and waited almost two months for it to arrive to my doorstep. However, the wait time was absolutely worth it!

One of the ways I wanted to organize my desk space was to be able to incorporate my computer so it did not have to sit on the floor. This case was the perfect size to keep on my desk, but also have enough space to move freely and work efficiently. You can see here how much smaller this case was compared to my previous one!

My transition into building what I would consider an enthusiast computer, compared to that of a very simple, almost blueprinted layout and size was definitely not an easy move. Especially because before I could even get started in moving my hardware over, I had to build the new case. It was flat packed as it shipped from China, and that resulted in having to piece together the frame, of course with no instructions. But, I made easy work of this, as my excitement to have the new case fueled me.

Once the case was built, and before I went any further, I took to the internet to view other examples and suggestions as to how to build this in order to take advantage of cooling the components the best. One thing that is obviously hard to do with such a small computer is make sure enough air is flowing in and enough air is flowing out into order to cool each component. Luckily enough, the all-in-one liquid cooler from my current computer would fit, although rather snug, in the new case. This would allow me to cool the CPU efficiently while also taking noise from fans in account. Having a computer on your desk is great, but also creating a mini wind tunnel just to cool it could be a problem. More on that down the line.
