My case from NZXT shipped in record time, and I was beyond excited to finally get all of my major components inside to give it a look.

The H201i from NZXT is a small form-factor, 27 liter case that would make building my first PC fairly simple and save a ton of space in my small room set up. I went with black on black, as most of my components and AIO were black as well. Some features of this case include programmable RGB top lighting, dual exhaust fans at the top and rear, and dust filters for the front and bottom, meaning I wouldn’t draw in too much unnecessary dust and debris [having 2 cats and a dog, this was incredibly important for me]. It also features a one-sided glass panel to check out the internals of my build, and front panel I/O with dual headphone/microphone jack, USB 3.0, and USB-c. With the case here, it was time to start putting some major pieces together.

My next step was to insert the RAM into my MB: dual-channel, 3600 speed, DDR4 from Corsair branded “Vengeance.” Installing RAM was incredibly easy, only having to lift two connectors and press the RAM directly into the board.

This was also RGB enabled, along with my Corsair AIO, and would be easy to control via the same iCUE program.

Next, I installed the MB into the case with the 4 retaining screws that came with the board. It was funny to see how small this board actually was compared to the case, giving me hope for the future that I definitely would be able to go smaller if I wanted to. Even with the case being on the smaller side of desktop computers, it still was bigger in person than I had originally thought, and definitely made installing all components and cable managing everything much easier.

This case also provided plenty of space to tuck and manage wires and cables behind and to the rear, hiding messy wiring out of sight for a clean and organized look. At this time, I also decided to test fit the GPU, ensuring it would fit with my radiator and intake fans also inside. It looked like it was going to be a close fit, but do-able.

With the MB finally inside the case, and knowing the GPU fit nicely, I ended for the day and prepared myself for what would be a long weekend of completing this build.
