I was very excited about this card, especially as I was able to source it new for an OK price during quarantine. I did some research recently and it looks like for a 2070 Super Founder’s card, you can get them for around $550 now. At this price point, you could also absolutely go with something a little older with more power, such as an NVIDIA 1080ti, however I wanted to go with something newer and low-profile for the future. The slim shroud and backplate of this card means I can swap it into much smaller cases, as I plan to do in the future.

I opened the box and unwrapped the card, setting it into place to test fit in my motherboard. Almost immediately I was impressed with not only the slim silhouette of the card, but with how small the motherboard was as well.

One of the reasons I went with this mini ITX motherboard was again for space saving. At the time I loved the idea of being able to set my desktop PC on my actual desk! Almost like a more powerful Mac Mini. Obviously I wouldn’t be able to get my build to be that small, but it was assuring knowing I had a setup that could easily go into a smaller case if I wanted to do so down the line.

At this point, I put the card away, as there wasn’t much else I could do until the actual case came. Being a mac user, I was excited to get to take advantage of these updated desktop version graphics processors that have been absent from Apple computers for quite a while now.

With my case and RAM arriving tomorrow, I would finally get to see everything inside the case and possibly even see if the machine would POST for its first time!
